Bijender Kumar, Paramount Public School, Titiri Rural, UP<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bijender Kumar and his elder brother grew up with muddy feet and calloused hands, helping their family on the farm. Their family owned 14 bighas of fertile land, passed down through generations. Everyone around believed the brothers would naturally continue this legacy.<\/p>\n

\u201cFarming<\/a> was in our blood,\u201d Bijender says softly. \u201cIt was the safest path. A known life. No one expected anything different.\u201d<\/p>\n

As schoolchildren, the brothers would wake up before sunrise and walk 7 kilometers each day to reach the only English-medium school in Baghpat. The road was long, dusty, and tiring, but they never missed a day. \u201cWe didn\u2019t think much back then,\u201d Bijender shares. \u201cWe just knew we had to go, no matter how far it was.\u201d<\/p>\n

That journey, those quiet miles on foot, left a lasting mark on them. \u201cWe would often ask, why isn\u2019t there a school like this closer to home?\u201d Years later, that question became the seed of something bigger.<\/p>\n

When they completed their education, the brothers felt something was missing. They wanted to do something that could help others, especially children from their own community. \u201cWe weren\u2019t against farming,\u201d Bijender says. \u201cBut we felt education was just as important for our village as growing crops.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2005, they made a quiet but powerful choice. They took seven bighas of their farmland and laid the foundation for Paramount Public School in Titiri Rural, UP. A school that could bring education closer to children who once had to walk miles, just like they did.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone thought we were giving up a secure life,\u201d Bijender shares. \u201cBut we wanted something more meaningful. Not just for us, but for our village.\u201d Their goal was simple: to make sure no child had to choose between distance and education. To create a place where learning came with dignity and possibility.<\/p>\n

And with that, a school was born, not from a business plan, but from two brothers\u2019 memories, a quiet sacrifice, and a deep need to change what they once endured.<\/p>\n

Starting the School<\/h2>\n

Paramount Public School began without much support. The only investment was their land. There was no funding or outside help. They started small, with just eight classrooms and around 8 to 10 teachers.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything we had went into building those first rooms,\u201d says Bijender. \u201cWe didn\u2019t have much, but we had a dream.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the very first year, 100 students joined the school. \u201cSeeing those first 100 students walk through our gates was the moment we knew we were on the right path,\u201d he shares.<\/p>\n

Building a school from nothing needed more than just hope. They needed money, but didn\u2019t have enough. So they took loans against marketable securities. Every rupee went into improving the teachers, the classrooms, and the facilities. Once things grew, they repaid the loans and reinvested again.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was never any backup,\u201d says Bijender. \u201cWe took each step with care, knowing everything was riding on it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Growth Over the Years<\/h2>\n

Despite many struggles, the brothers never gave up. Year after year, the school grew step by step. Slowly, Paramount Public School became stronger and more trusted.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor us, getting CBSE affiliation was an important milestone,\u201d Bijender says. \u201cIt opened many new doors for our students.\u201d Today, Paramount Public School is a top choice for parents who want their children to study in an English medium school.<\/p>\n

Bijender shares, \u201cWe started with just 100 students, but now more than 850 children study here. This growth shows how much the school has improved over the years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Along with the growing number of students, the school also built new facilities. 25 new classrooms<\/a>, a well-stocked library, a science lab, a computer lab<\/a>, and even a playground were added.<\/p>\n

Bijender explains, \u201cThe name \u2018Paramount\u2019 came from our belief in breaking barriers in education. We wanted a name that clearly showed we stand for the best quality English medium schooling.\u201d He adds, \u201cIt was important to us that the name reflects our goal of providing excellent education.\u201d<\/p>\n

Making Education Within Everyone\u2019s Reach<\/h2>\n

From the start, making education affordable and reachable was their main focus. Bijender says, \u201cFamilies from all kinds of backgrounds were offered flexible fees. For example, the fees for LKG are \u20b9900 per month, transportation charges are \u20b9450 monthly, and examination<\/a> fees are \u20b9900 each session. Overall, the total cost comes to about \u20b915,000 to \u20b916,000 annually.\u201d<\/p>\n

He adds, \u201cThis fee structure was designed to be affordable for families with limited income, especially those working in blue-collar jobs, who dream of giving their children a chance to study in an English school.\u201d<\/p>\n

Varthana Being a Support in Tough Times<\/h2>\n

Running a school is not just about building classrooms or hiring teachers. “Financial support is always needed,” Bijender says. “Two years ago, we partnered with Varthana and the process was very simple. With a loan of 75 lakhs, the school was able to grow. They didn\u2019t just give us money, they believed in our vision.”<\/p>\n

But life brought unexpected challenges. When Bijender\u2019s wife passed away suddenly he faced a tough time. “She was insured so in theory the remaining loan should have been cleared. But dealing with insurance companies was very hard,” he explains. “There were so many formalities and little real help. When I was grieving, handling all that paperwork felt overwhelming. The claim was not worth the trouble.”<\/p>\n

In this difficult time, Sunil the branch manager at Varthana stepped in as a true support. “Unlike other banks that only focus on loans, Varthana’s team showed real care. They treated me like a person, not just a customer,” Bijender shares. “Sunil helped me gather all the documents and even came with me from the hospital to finish the paperwork.”<\/p>\n

Over the years the partnership with Varthana has grown stronger. Bijender says, “Whether it\u2019s funding new classrooms or keeping the school running smoothly they have played a vital role.” He adds, “Their support is not just about money it\u2019s about making a difference. They have stood by us at every step.”<\/p>\n

A Legacy in the Making<\/h2>\n

Paramount Public School has grown step by step, facing many challenges but never giving up. Bijender says, “From a simple idea, it has turned into a place that changes lives and brings hope to many children.”<\/p>\n

He shares, “Our journey is not finished. We want to bring in better learning programs, digital classrooms, and activities that help students grow beyond books.” He adds with feeling, “This is just the start. Education keeps changing, and we must keep up.”<\/p>\n

What began as a small dream has become a mission to give every child a chance to learn, no matter where they come from. Bijender says, “We want to make sure every child feels welcome and can reach their full potential.”<\/p>\n
