Broadening the Mindset
Bharat Dadichi was born into a modest family in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, a small town where people were content with their daily routines, unable to imagine much beyond basic survival and progress. In the midst of this mindset, Bharat stood out with a dream of making a meaningful impact. His father, Pramod Dadichi, was an astrologer who brought hope to many with his predictions. Bharat fondly recalls, “My father’s love for knowledge sparked a flame in me, showing me a world beyond our small town.”
Bharat’s mother, a devoted homemaker, created a nurturing environment filled with warmth and curiosity, while his elder brother, an accomplished engineer, became an inspiring influence.
Pramod often said, “My elder brother set a standard of excellence that always pushed me to aim higher and believe in myself.”
From a young age, Bharat found joy in both education and sports. Reflecting on those days, he shares, “I spent endless hours playing with friends, but as time passed, my attention turned towards academics. I realized the power of education to shape my future.” Encouraged by a family that valued learning, Bharat thrived, making the most of every opportunity that came his way.
Early Education
Bharat opted for a local government school for secondary and senior secondary school, only because of its affordable fees. The fees were within his family’s means. “The school laid a very strong foundation in science for me. I enjoyed sitting in those classrooms where teachers encouraged us to think beyond textbooks and explore knowledge with curiosity,” says Bharat.
The government school at which Bharat studied was not very competent in providing quality education and updated resources. He remembers that “Though there were problems, my interest in science seemed to grow every day. I made a way with what I had and kept moving forward.”
Bharat wanted to continue his journey at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), which was known for its rigorous academic environment. Looking back, he says, “The journey to JNU was tough. It had its share of challenges, but I learned that perseverance and self-belief can turn even the toughest battles into an opportunity.”
Pursuing Professional Career
Bharat planned to pursue a Diploma in Lab Technology at a paramedical institute after graduating from JNU. The issue was the funding for his higher education seemed like a hurdle.
He says, “I had already seen the strain on our family’s resources; I had to make a way to fulfill my dream. Then, I discovered Varthana, an organization that helps students like me complete their higher education.”
Varthana’s Role in Advancing the Career
Bharat went to Varthana, full of hope, to take the next step. He explains, “I prepared all of the necessary documentation and applied. I was relieved that the process was simple, and my loan was approved within ten days. It took a great weight off my shoulders.”
With Varthana’s financial help, Bharat immersed himself in his studies at the Delhi Paramedical and Management Institute (DPMI). He recalls, “Every class and practical session used to give me the feeling that I was getting closer to my dream. The lab became my second home, where I discovered the joy of learning through experience. It wasn’t education alone; it was a preparation for the future I had envisioned.”
To supplement his studies, Bharat began working part-time and, hence, gaining valuable information about the professional world. He shares with an inspiration: “Balancing studies and work was challenging, but it gave me a sense of purpose. Applying my classroom learning in real-life situations made me more confident and responsible.”
For nearly a year, Bharat maintained this balance with unwavering dedication. “Those days were tough but rewarding. Every effort I put in—whether in the lab or at work—brought me closer to my goals and taught me the true value of persistence,” he says.
A Future Unfolding
Bharat was raised in a family with ideals where responsibility mattered most and played a life-changing role. Bharat remarks, “One thing I understood at an early age was the importance of planning for the future. I had an aim right from the beginning: a career in the medical field, contributing positively to the betterment of society as a lab technician.”
The values instilled by his father, especially perseverance, and the hard work portrayed by his brother, served as strong motivators. Just before his graduation, Bharat says, “I could see what my family had sacrificed for me to reach this point…I realized that what Varthana had offered was not merely financial assistance for me; rather it was the opportunity to pursue my dreams without being hindered by a huge burden of debt.”
Message to the Youth
Bharat made it a point to share his story with the young people of his village, hoping to inspire them to chase their dreams: He always emphasized the value of their education and had positive plans for them to make into their futures. “Get an education at any cost,” he would say, “Do not hesitate to take financial help when you need it. Institutions like Varthana are here to help you achieve your dreams.”
Many of them resonated with his words, motivating them to pursue their education. “The loan helped in relieving the financial burden of my studies,” Bharat says. “I assured them that when the time came again when I needed financial help, I would not hesitate to ask for help, for I had seen the joy it brings.”
Bharat’s path is about more than just overcoming hurdles; it is also about his undying commitment to his own growth and progress, and making a positive influence in the world. His determination is depicted as he begins his promising career, anticipating the challenges life may present. His example demonstrates that where there is drive and the right atmosphere, there is always hope.
