Fathima and Mohd Obaid Ahmed, Little Tulips High School, Telangana
Fathima and Mohd Obaid Ahmed started a school to offer affordable education in India. After completing her M.A. and B.Ed, she worked as an educator in Doha, Qatar. But her passion brought her back to India. They established Little Tulips High School with her husband’s support in January 1992 in Telangana. Initially, they started with 60 students, seven teachers, and classes up to grade 5. As they expanded with more classrooms, their popularity grew, leading to an increase in student admissions in the following years.
Gradually, the school expanded to 1,400 students with a professional group of 65 educators. “My passion for teaching and leadership were the reasons behind this achievement,” Fathima shared. She emphasized recruiting experienced instructors and offered regular training and assessments to provide the finest education to the students.
Running the School with a Purpose
“To support middle-class families, we built a dedicated kindergarten block, offering quality education at an affordable cost. The school adopted activity-based learning to make lessons more engaging.” they shared proudly.
To address parents’ concerns, the school leaders created separate sections for boys and girls, ensuring better focus and discipline. Modern facilities like computer labs, coding, and robotics were added to teach essential 21st-century skills. A projector room for 200 students was introduced for educational content and inspiring movies.
The school also launched an IT club and a Young Entrepreneurs Club, helping students develop life skills alongside academics.
Partnership with Varthana
Talking about their growth, they shared, “Varthana played a key role by providing financial support, helping us build more classrooms, accommodate more students, and continue our mission of delivering quality education.”
Many graduates have gone on to achieve remarkable success, securing leadership roles in top companies under the guidance of these passionate school leaders. Their faith in the school’s education is evident, as many parents now choose to enroll their own children here.
With a strong reputation, the school experiences smooth admissions each year. To address student behaviour challenges, they introduced counseling, engaged parents, and provided additional support for slow learners.
Wrap-Up
Looking ahead, Fathima and Mohd Obaid Ahmed plan to add more facilities, including a seminar hall, and improve sports programs in the coming years.
Their journey reflects the impact of dedication, passion, and community support in shaping education. This ambitious couple continues to inspire, showing that a strong educational foundation can transform lives for generations.
