Like many others, Prakash Kanwar once imagined a simple path ahead—completing his education and finding a regular job. But life took an unexpected turn after he finished 12th grade. Slowly, his interest began shifting towards teaching. Looking back, Prakash recalls, “It was during my first six months of teaching that I found a strong connection with learning. That experience changed my path and gave me the push I needed to establish Jay Karni Adarsh Sr. Sec School in Balesar, Jodhpur.”
Prakash shares, “Our school, which started with modest beginnings, has now become a pillar of quality education, serving the entire Balesar community.” His journey from a dedicated teacher to the leader of a thriving school highlights his unwavering commitment to education and the impact it has had on countless students.
School’s Influence on Students
Speaking about his school, Prakash shares, “Back in 2002, we started this school to provide education up to the 12th grade in both science and arts, in Hindi and English mediums.” Over time, the school steadily grew, and by the academic year 2016-17, a dedicated building was constructed—an important step in its journey.
Prakash reflects, “We began with just 40 students, but today, Jay Karni Adarsh Sr. Sec School is home to 700 students.” Known for its excellent board results and disciplined environment, the school has become a cornerstone of education in the community.
Driven by a passion for personal attention and quality education, Prakash adds, “I have taken an active role in our academic journey, teaching English to students from the 9th to 12th grades.” This focus on structured learning and academic rigor has yielded remarkable results. “Out of my students, nearly 70 are now working as government employees, several are doctors, and some have become Chartered Accountants,” Prakash proudly shares.
Beyond academics, the students are encouraged to participate in sports, excelling in district-level tournaments in kho-kho, kabaddi, and volleyball, reflecting the school’s commitment to holistic development.

Prakash fondly shares, “One of my former students, now a medical officer, made a special visit just to thank me after securing his position.” This simple gesture of gratitude reflects the deep connections formed at Jay Karni Adarsh Sr. Sec School, showing how much the school means to its students.
He adds, “Whenever I visit the hospital, he always comes to greet me, setting aside his work to make time for me.” These moments leave Prakash with a sense of fulfillment, reaffirming his dedication to his work.

Prakash emphasizes the significance of quality education, stating, “Physical facilities and good teachers are essential for sustained, growth-driven education.” He adds, “Our school features smart TVs, well-equipped labs, and a smart room designed for interactive learning, even in the absence of a teacher.”
Prakash further explains, “We believe that providing these resources allows our students to engage actively and explore their interests.” These innovative methods greatly enhance the educational experience, creating an environment that fosters engagement and curiosity.
Varthana’s Support
Reflecting on the challenges during the construction of the school building in 2016-17, Prakash expresses gratitude for the help he received from Varthana. He says, “Jaha kahi nahi mil raha tha vaha Varthana se mila.” (Where it was not found anywhere, it was found through Varthana.)
He emphasizes, “Varthana’s support made all the difference in creating a space for students to learn and grow.” This shows the significant impact their partnership has had on the students’ lives.
